Sophos Central Is Becoming Sophos Fusion: What Customers Need to Know

If you use Sophos, you’ll soon notice a new name in your console. Sophos Central is becoming Sophos Fusion. Here’s what is changing, what isn’t, and what you should check.

What is happening

Sophos Central is the cloud console businesses use to manage Sophos products. In July 2026, Sophos launched Sophos Fusion and described it as the evolution of Sophos Central. It brings endpoint protection, EDR, XDR, next-gen SIEM, identity threat detection and response, MDR, network security, email, cloud and advisory services together as one defence system.

Is Sophos Central being retired?

No. Sophos’s own words are: “This is an upgrade, not a retirement.” It says the new name will arrive gradually over the coming months, and that you can keep working exactly as you do today. Sophos hasn’t published a single switch-over date.

What you need to do

Sophos doesn’t list any action for existing customers. It says Sophos Fusion will appear in your console over time. Sophos Central is also included automatically when you use any Sophos product, so it isn’t a separate purchase or licence.

Three sensible checks while the name changes

  1. Tell your team: staff who see “Sophos Fusion” on a sign-in page should know it’s expected. Attackers like to copy familiar login pages during a change like this, so always sign in from a saved bookmark, not from a link in an email.
  2. Update your own documents: IT guides, runbooks and support notes that mention Sophos Central will need the new name over time.
  3. Review admin access: this is a good moment to confirm who has admin rights, remove anyone who has left and check that multi-factor authentication is on for every admin.
